Overview of the service
Internal waterproofing protects concrete block walls and subfloor areas from water ingress and moisture damage.
BlastOff Solutions provides residential internal waterproofing for basements, rumpus rooms, cellars, and internal concrete block structures. This service helps prevent water entering, leaks, dampness, mould, and efflorescence.
The method is selected based on wall condition and moisture levels.
How we waterproof

Each job follows the same five-step process to give a lasting, watertight result.

Coating removal
Existing coatings are ground back using a grinder paired with a HEPA filter vacuum for dust-free removal.

Crack remediation
Cracks are repaired with epoxy mortar, with coving installed at the
wall-to-floor interface.

Structural injection
Structural cracks are filled to full depth using polyurethane (PU) injection.

Patch repairs
PU or cement epoxy is used to patch and fair up the wall surface,
ready for waterproofing.

Waterproofing applied
The system is applied to the wall and carried 100mm onto the floor to seal the weak pressure point at the junction.

Does the current coating need to be removed?
Yes, the walls will have a new waterproof finish applied. Depending on the system selected, the surface may have a slightly different texture or appearance than before. However, waterproofed walls can be painted, plastered, or otherwise finished to achieve the desired final look.
Will the walls look different?
No. Waterproofing is designed to protect and preserve the structure, not alter it. By preventing moisture ingress, waterproofing helps reduce deterioration, corrosion, mould growth, and long-term damage caused by water exposure. In many cases, it can significantly extend the life of the structure.
Does waterproofing affect structural integrity?
Yes. Once the waterproofing system has fully cured, the walls can typically be painted, plastered, tiled, or finished with other decorative coatings, depending on the intended use of the space. We can recommend suitable finishing systems for your specific project.

How long does the work take?
Most internal waterproofing projects take between 2 and 7 working days, depending on the size of the area, the condition of the substrate, drying times, and the waterproofing system being installed. Larger or more complex projects may take longer. We will provide an estimated programme before work begins.
