Overview of the service

IBIX Polyfusion is a flame-sprayed, fusion-bonded thermoplastic (acid-modified polyolefin) coating that forms a flexible, seamless, chemical- and water-resistant membrane on commercial concrete and tile substrates.

BlastOff Solutions provides Polyfusion services across a wide range of commercial concrete and tile environments. Tilt-panel walls, industrial concrete floors, existing tile surfaces, wet rooms, tanks, bunded containment areas, food and beverage processing facilities, plant rooms, ramps, and high-traffic commercial floors across New Zealand. Polyfusion allows surface preparation and protection to be carried out with instant curing, no solvent fumes, and rapid return to service, making it ideal for sites that cannot afford extended shutdowns.

Surface assessment to confirm substrate (concrete or tile) and Polyfusion suitability

Existing coatings, laitance, and contaminants removed by abrasive blasting (NZS / AS 1627.4)

Substrate inspection — cracks, hollow spots, delamination repaired before coating

Tile surfaces lightly profiled to provide a mechanical key for the primer

Why Polyfusion®

Traditional concrete and tile coatings; epoxies, polyurethanes, and polyureas, require long cure windows, are sensitive to ambient conditions, and frequently fail on porous substrates due to osmotic blistering and vapour drive from the slab beneath.

Polyfusion eliminates these problems by combining controlled abrasive surface preparation with instant-curing, fume-free thermoplastic flame-spray. The concrete or tile is protected immediately, plants and floors return to service the same day, with no two-pack mixing, no solvent fumes, and no VOCs.

Fully waterproofs tiles and stops water penetrating through concrete, grout lines, and porous substrates. Sealing the surface against liquid ingress and eliminating osmotic blistering from vapour drive beneath the slab

Delivers a certified anti-slip finish. DIN 51130 rated from R9 (smooth) up to R12 (anti-slip). Applied to any concrete or tile surface in the same flame-spray pass, with no separate topcoat or broadcast aggregate

Withstands 20+ years of UV exposure with no chalking, fading, or colour breakdown. Engineered for demanding outdoor and high-exposure environments

Resists aggressive chemicals. Acids, alkalis, oils, and solvents, making it ideal for food and beverage processing, wet rooms, plant rooms, and bunded containment areas

Extreme flexibility (>500% elongation at break) absorbs structural movement, thermal cycling, and minor cracking without splitting or delaminating, and stays flexible down to –50°C

Instant cure with same-day return to service. Light traffic in minutes, heavy traffic within 24 hours. So sites that can’t afford extended shutdowns stay operational

IBIX Polyfusion® thermoplastic coatings are supported by independent testing and international performance benchmarks, including DIN 51130 (slip resistance), EN 13813 (screed compliance), pull-off adhesion testing, and ASTM / ISO chemical and abrasion methodologies. Polyfusion is also approved for drinking water and food contact.
