With the shell prepared, IBIX Polyfusion was applied by thermal fusion, bonding the polymer lining directly to the shell rather than layering it on as a conventional paint. This approach was chosen for its continuous, waterproof and chemical-resistant finish, suited to a pool exposed to constant chlorinated water.
The Paerata pool was refilled with a Polyfusion lining bonded directly to the shell, giving Auckland Pools a chemical-resistant, waterproof surface built for years of chlorinated service.
