The pool’s existing paint coating had failed, and the extent of the failure meant the shell needed to be completely stripped back rather than patched or recoated over the top. Every layer of the old paint had to be removed to reach a sound substrate before a new lining system could be installed with confidence.
BlastOff sandblasted the pool shell to remove every layer of the old, failed paint and expose a sound substrate across the full pool. IBIX Polyfusion was then applied by thermal fusion, forming a continuous polymer lining bonded to the prepared shell. Working through the complete removal of the previous coating first gave the new lining a uniform surface to bond to, rather than building over inconsistent remnants of the old paint.
The Wainui pool was fitted with a new Polyfusion lining over a shell stripped back to sound substrate, resolving the paint failure that had affected the surface. The finished lining is designed to resist pool chemistry, UV exposure and regular brushing, giving the pool a durable, renewed interior.
The pool at Cemetery Road in Wainui had reached a stage where patch repairs were no longer a realistic option, the existing paint coating had failed across enough of the shell that a full strip back was the only way to get a reliable result from a new lining.

Stripping the entire shell back to a consistent substrate meant the Polyfusion lining had the same base to bond to everywhere, rather than a mix of clean concrete and residual paint that would behave differently under UV exposure and pool chemistry over time.

The finished pool at Cemetery Road now has a lining built to resist pool chemistry, UV exposure and the wear of regular brushing, on a substrate that was fully verified before coating began.
