The pool’s existing coating had failed and needed to be completely removed before a new lining could go on. Leaving any of the old paint in place risked compromising adhesion of the replacement system. The pool shell also had to be brought to the correct surface profile for the Polyfusion coating, meaning removal needed to be thorough and consistent across the full shell rather than a partial strip.
BlastOff sandblasted the pool shell back to a clean, sound substrate, removing the failed coating in full and establishing the surface profile the Polyfusion system needed to bond properly. The IBIX Polyfusion coating was then heat-fused across the shell, forming a continuous lining rather than a series of separate coats. This fusion process was chosen for its ability to produce one unbroken waterproof layer across the whole pool.
The Cemetery Road pool now has a fused, continuous Polyfusion lining in place of its previous failed paint finish. The unbroken surface is built to withstand pool chemicals, UV exposure and regular scrubbing, giving Precision Pools a durable lining for the shell that removes the vulnerabilities of the earlier painted system.
