Asphalt Renewal and Line Marking

With the fire-affected steel and coatings elsewhere in the TPW Wilson Carpark already addressed, the facility still could not reopen until its asphalt surface was sealed and its parking layout properly remarked. Soot, contamination and general surface degradation had affected the pavement following the fire event, and a carpark cannot safely return to service without a complete, clearly visible line marking layout guiding vehicles through the space.

BlastOff water blasted the asphalt across the carpark to remove soot, contamination and degraded surface material left behind, preparing a clean base for the treatment to follow. An asphalt renewal coating was then applied to restore and protect the wearing course, after which new line marking was set out and applied across the entire facility to reinstate a complete, legible parking layout. This project shows why an asphalt renewal coating is often the right final step in a restoration programme, sealing and protecting the pavement while creating a consistent surface for new line marking to sit on rather than applying fresh lines over an inconsistent or contaminated base.
