The Challenge

Our Approach

BlastOff sandblasted the concrete pavers to cut a uniform, textured finish into the surface that provides grip underfoot when wet. The blasting was controlled carefully across the pool surround so the edges of each paver stayed intact, avoiding the inconsistent, patchwork appearance that uneven treatment can leave behind on a paved area of this kind used regularly by residents and visitors.

The Outcome

The Miranda Park pavers kept their original appearance while gaining slip resistance that comes from the concrete’s own texture rather than a surface coating. Because the grip was cut directly into the pavers, it will not peel or delaminate the way an applied anti-slip coating can, giving the pool surround a safer, consistent finish underfoot.

Rather than applying a separate anti-slip coating over the top, BlastOff sandblasted the pavers directly, cutting a uniform, textured finish into the concrete itself that provides grip underfoot when wet.
